Happy Birthday to me and all those September babies out there! So after a week long 21st birthday celebration... I needed a recipe to bounce me right back into my Paleo life! Honestly, now that I turned 21 I must say. This whole "drinking" and "going out everyday thing is not all it's cracked up to be.
My favorite girls came out for a Birthday brunch to this amazing place in a nearby city. Let me tell you... DELICIOUS omelets and excessively strong strong strong drinks! Exhibit A is my facial expression after just a taster sip of my drink, La Freda. But back to the food, the omelet was superb full of shitake mushrooms, onions and avocado with a side of fresh fruit! Honestly, breakfast is the easiest meal to stay paleo on. It's the other ones that will get you. ;)
But now that the festivities are official over... it's time to go back, back to my roots, back to my clean paleo life. Starting first with this shake...
1/3 c. frozen black berries
1/2 c. chopped strawberries
1/4 c. chopped black cherries
1/2 c. full-fat coconut cream*
1/2 c. coconut milk
1 whole frozen banana
Yields ~ 2 servings
Directions: Put all ingredients into a blender and mix!
* Place your can of full-fat coconut milk in the fridge (overnight is best). Then open the can from the bottom and remove the separated cream. The liquid part is now "coconut water". Save that for a different smoothie!
