Thyme Turkey Burgers

I know, I know... I'm the worst blogger ever! I've been out for a couple days (or weeks) but I have a good excuse... I promise! I have finals in two weeks! If that wasn't enough, some of my *lovely* professors still decided to have midterms this week. Cause studying for finals isn't enough?

Well, now that those are done... how about some yummy food? I made these two or three times during my "hell week" of studying. These little gems are fast, easy to make and oh so filling. With less than 5 ingredients, these little burgers will definitely be a "go-to meal" come finals week!

4 oz. Lean (~85-90%) Ground Turkey
2 tsp. fresh thyme, chopped
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tbs. ground flax meal
1 egg white (or 1 tbs. egg substitute)
1 tbs. extra virgin coconut oil (for frying)

Directions: Preheat oven to 375 deg. (F). Mix together turkey, thyme, garlic powder and flax meal-with your fingers, of course! Add in egg white to help combine the mixture together.

In a sauté pan over medium-high heat, melt your coconut oil. Press together between your hands ~ 1/3 of the meat mixture. Pan-fry on both sides for ~ 4-5 minutes.

When both sides have crisped pull them off the heat. Place "fried" patties in oven-safe dish. Place in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Pop them out and enjoy!
I like mine with some crisp romaine lettuce heads and cherry tomatoes! How do you enjoy your turkey burgers?
