2 c. Raw Almonds, room temp.
pinch of sea salt, optional
Yields ~1 c. raw creamy almond butter
Place almonds in food processor. It's best if their at room temp, because they will break down faster.
This process does take a while, I won't lie to you guys! Unfortunately, mine took almost 30-40 min. If you have a more "high-powered" processor/blender this process will go faster. But I have a very standard food processor, so it took awhile. But it is still worth it! :) After about 20 minutes it looks like this... and can be considered "chunky" but not yet done. I like mine nice and creamy! Now, I added in my salt. If you wanted an unsalted butter, just omit this step!
After about 40 min, in my standard food processor I yielded this creamy goodness! Below are links to recipes already posted that use this butter! More coming soon! :) Not only is this butter good for cookies, muffins and shakes (RECIPES BELOW) but it's a great snack too! Sometimes I like to put a little in a bowl and freeze it to have a faux ice-cream! One day i'll post a little almond butter ice cream recipe! But for now, slap it on to some celery stalks and ~ENJOY!
