Simple Syrup [Sugar-Free]

I've been using Simple Syrups a lot in my baking lately, especially when I don't want the added sugar from honey or molasses. Therefore, I figured i'd share my little "sugar-free" simple syrup recipe with you!

1 c. Stevia powder
4 c. Water

Yields ~ 3 1/2 c. of Simple Syrup when finished

Directions: Bring water to a boil on the stovetop. When boiling, add in stevia powder and mix enough to dissolve. Stevia dissolves fairly quickly so this should not take long. Let it boil for about 1-2 minutes, when you don't see anymore stevia granules remove from heat. I pour mine into a mason jar and pop it into the fridge for use throughout the week.

Keep in mind, the shelf life of this simple syrup is shorter than regular sugar syrups. As a tip, i've never used my simple syrup after a week (probably because i've used it all in baking that week!). Adjust the recipe but keep a 4:1 water to stevia ratio when making smaller batches.
Useful in:
-baked goods
and more!

What do you use this Simple Syrup in?

  1. Why is the writing blue on this background, I can only read it when I highlight it :@

  2. I have liquid stevia and I'm not sure how much to use. Should I just experiment?

    1. Did you ever find a recipe using liquid Stevia?
